Welcome to Sheltre. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Sheltre website, mobile app, and related services (together, the "Platform"). By using Sheltre, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Platform, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
Sheltre is an animal-welfare platform that connects people, shelters, and rescuers across Egypt. It offers rescue reporting, an adoption catalogue, shelter boarding, donations to urgent cases, and a pet-supplies shop. Sheltre facilitates these connections but is not itself a veterinary provider, shelter, or courier.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and remain responsible for all activity under your account.
Adoption applications submitted through the Platform are requests, not confirmed adoptions. The relevant shelter reviews each application and decides at its sole discretion. Sheltre does not guarantee the approval, health, behaviour, or suitability of any animal.
Boarding bookings are subject to availability and to the accepting shelter's policies. Prices are shown per night, per animal, and are confirmed at the time of booking. Cancellations, refunds, and house rules are governed by the individual shelter.
Donations are voluntary and are directed to the urgent case or shelter you select. Unless required by law, donations are non-refundable. Sheltre does not deduct a fee from donations in the current release.
Product descriptions, availability, and prices may change without notice. Your order is an offer to purchase, which is confirmed when we accept it. We may decline or cancel orders, including where items are out of stock.
Rescue reporting exists to help animals in need. You agree to report honestly and not to file false, duplicate, or malicious reports. Reports may include video and location data used to assess the situation and route responders. Approved reports may appear on the public map after the response window, without exposing your identity.
You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose, not to harass other users or shelters, and not to upload content depicting animal cruelty except as necessary to report it. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
You retain ownership of the content you submit and grant Sheltre a non-exclusive licence to host and display it as needed to operate the Platform. You are responsible for the content you provide and confirm you have the right to share it.
The Sheltre name, logo, design, and content are owned by Sheltre or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. You may not copy or reuse them without permission.
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." Sheltre does not provide veterinary advice and is not a party to adoptions, bookings, or donations between users and shelters. Always consult a qualified professional for an animal's medical needs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sheltre is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or from interactions between users, shelters, providers, or animals.
We may update the Platform or these Terms from time to time. Material changes are reflected by updating the date above. Your continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and any disputes are subject to the courts of Cairo.
